Online Master’s Degrees in New Hampshire

The small, New England state of New Hampshire has a lot to offer college students: besides beautiful views and fall leaves, New Hampshire has a variety of institutions for students to choose from. In addition, the higher education coalition has launched the “Inclusive Excellence” initiative to emphasize diversity, equity, and civic preparedness in higher education. The Community College System of New Hampshire has seven campuses, and there are five other public institutions in the state: Granite State College, Keene State College, Plymouth State College, University of New Hampshire, and University of New Hampshire, Manchester. Private colleges in the state include such names as Dartmouth College and Franklin Pierce University. Some of these institutions offer online master’s programs, allowing students to earn their degree at their own pace and on their own time.

Franklin Pierce University

This private university offers four MBAs, a Master of Education and Teacher Certification, and a Master of Science in Information Technology Management that can be completed online. Franklin Pierce’s eCollege allows you to take these accredited programs completely online, and the course content is available to you 24 hours a day, though some classes may require you to log on at a certain time for some projects. The school has been regularly on Forbes‘ Top Colleges List since 2009, soon after it gained university status.

Granite State College

Granite State College, a public institution in New Hampshire, has two master’s degrees available: one in leadership and one in project management. Courses are delivered through the online course management system Moodle, so students can interact with each other and professors, as well as complete assignments online. Granite State is known for its adult education programs and is a leader in the state for online education. There are multiple academic centers throughout New Hampshire for added convenience.

Rivier University

Rivier University, formerly known as Rivier College, offers two MBAs – one in health care administration and one in information technology management. Courses are organized through Blackboard, a course management system, and no traditional classroom time is required. Rivier University is a Catholic institution with a focus on community service. Its most popular majors are education and nursing.

Southern New Hampshire University

Southern New Hampshire University is great for someone who wants choices, as they have more than 80 online master’s degree specializations. This includes more than 40 MBA concentrations, all available through the Internet, as well as degrees in English, education, justice studies, and more. For online graduate courses, there are four terms throughout the year, each lasting about 12 weeks, but classes can be accessed 24 hours a day during those terms. The university is known for its sustainability efforts, winning an EPA College & University Green Power Challenge and planning projects for the future of the campus. Southern New Hampshire University was also the only university to appear on the Fast Company 2012 list of the World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies.
