Online Master’s Degrees in Oklahoma

Known for its place in the middle of Tornado Alley and its intense college football rivalry, Oklahoma also has a lot to offer those looking for higher education in the state. Oklahoma is taking part in the Complete College America initiative with the goal of increasing the number of completed degrees and certificates in the state by 67% by 2023. The state’s three largest public universities are the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, and the University of Central Oklahoma. There are also many professional schools and community colleges throughout the state. Some of these colleges offer online master’s programs for students who have work or family obligations or who may not live near a campus.

Oklahoma State University

This state university gives students the opportunity to earn one of 11 master’s degrees online. There’s an MBA, a Master of Agriculture, and several science degrees offered, including those in various types of engineering and technology. Students complete coursework online and interact with fellow students and professors via the Internet. Oklahoma State University has been named one of the Best Western Colleges by the Princeton Review and is consistently ranked as a best-value college. The school is known for its athletics, with 50 national championships under its belt.

University of Oklahoma

The University of Oklahoma, an athletic rival of Oklahoma State, is also competitive with schools in the state when it comes to online degree offerings. The university offers eight online master’s degrees. These include programs in administrative leadership, museum studies, and economics, among others. Coursework is completed online, allowing students to work on assignments on their own schedule. The University of Oklahoma is strong in both academics and athletics. It claims the highest number of National Merit Scholars per capita in a public university and has one of the largest honors programs in the country. Its athletics programs have also earned national titles in several different sports.

Cameron University

Cameron University offers two master’s programs online: an MBA and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership. Online courses at Cameron are similar to traditional courses in that they have start and end dates and deadline for assignments. Though the coursework can be accessed completely online, every course requires students to take at least one proctored exam each semester. Cameron University is unique in Oklahoma because it offers associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees through a single university, in the fields of business, education, liberal arts, and science.
